Mount Pinatubo is a volcano located in the Philippine island of Luzon. The volcano had been dormant for almost 500 years when it suddenly erupted in 1991. The event was identified as the second most destructive volcanic eruption to date.
After more than 20 years, areas affected by the eruption has progressed and moved on. The tourism industry, in particular, has been a great help in the redemption of the area. Mt Pinatubo is now a major tourist destination.
